This was a real labour of love, finally had some spare time between projects to get it finished. I've been working on this on and off for several months. :)
I was requested to create this by my husband as it's his favourite machine gun. I thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to work on a more challenging mesh with lots of details that needed to be rather accurate in order for it to look believable.
This was the first time I have really got my teeth stuck into using Substance Painter for the texturing too. So I used this project as a learning curve, to teach myself lots of new skills along the way.
The software used for this project was: Maya 2012 for modeling, Photoshop CC for some of the normal work, 3D Coat for some of the unwrapping, Substance Painter for texturing and IRay for the rendering.
